During this section of the course I have experimented with PureData within lectures and outside of lectures, I have created basic synthesisers and sequencers and have found the process of learning how to code using pure data interesting. What I didn’t like about pure data was the lack of physicality, I wanted to be learning a new craft and I wanted to work with my hands, pure data was not suitable for this as it is entirely based on pc.
I found it important to work with physical electronics as I wanted to pay homage to DIY electronics and the beginnings of synthesis.
I wanted to create a collaborative Stylophone that electronically functioned in the same way it would have if Dubreq made one at the peak of the Stylophones place in toy culture and to do this using pure data using my very limited knowledge wouldn’t have sounded as good as real electronic circuitry.
