Whilst creating my mix template I have decided I want to make an ambient/future garage track utilising old sound effects, I like the idea of utilising recordings made in the past as it provides a window into a different time that I personally do not understand as I have not lived then. I would like to include lots of sound effects of people and animals as I am find the sound of living things with consciousness more personal as it feels more organic and natural as well as vulnerable. The idea of juxtaposing future garage (A genre that is forward thinking and aimed to emulate what music could have sounded like in the future) and old sound effects is exciting, what excites me about it is the different layers of time I will have to my piece with it being composed in the present and aiming to sound like a genre from the past which aimed to sound like the future as well as having audio recordings made prior to the genre even existing. Structurally, I would like to have a tense intro that builds up as well as experimenting with a section in a time signature I do not normally compose in leading into a more energetic finish to the song.
